It wouldn't be likely for her to find a job by soliciting on Y/A. Tell your mom to put an ad in the local paper stating her experience. She could get another job in a nursing home. Something else she may not have thought of....home care of an Alzheimer's patient. My mother had Alzheimer's and my sister quit work to take care of her because we wanted to keep her in a home environment. Someone like your mom to give loving care to her would have been a Godsend! Your mom has skills that are very needed in today's world. If she hasn't done it already, tell her to go get her certification in CPR. It can be done usually in one day and it will make her more likely to find a good position. Good luck to her!

Don't you panic now and help tour Mom not panic. Alot of us are in the same boat right now. Two ideas I have for her is
1. Put an ad in the local newspaper to hire herself out as a personal assistant to care for elderly and sick people in their homes. (My grandpa did that years ago and didn't have any experience. He called it "sitting with the old man".
2. Apply for night auditer jobs at EVERY local hotel and motel. This is night work and these jobs are oten open and if she can get an application in even when they aren't hiring, hers will be the first one they see when they do need help. If they can save time and money on a want ad they might think of her before advertising the job. It can't hurt.
3. Offer her services as a overnight babysitter.
