Hard to find jobs right now?

I live in central Florida with my husband. I just took my State Board for Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and I've been applying for jobs with the local nursing homes/hospitals. I have filled so many applications I lost count. Today I went to a local hospital, to a hospice and a nursing home. All they say is "we're taking applications". I wait a few days and always call those whom I already applied to, and they said "we will keep your data on file for 6 months, but you can always re-apply later". It's very frustrating. I want to start working. I thought about Home health but most of them require you have your own insurance (I have no health insurance) and lots of medical exams and shots, etc, and I can't afford these things right now. This will be my first time in the health care. Is it because I'm too old (32)? Or because I'm unexperienced? what is it? Why is it so hard to find a job?

You're in the wrong country. You would have to give up the warm weather....We've been crying for nurses (RN's, LPNs (which is the same as a CNA, I think) up here in Alberta, Canada. Check out this website - if you're qualified, they'll bring you in from out of country. At $30+/hr and decent medical benefits (for a family of 3 or more - less than $100/mo - no co pays - EXCEPT at specialty clinics) - you choose your own Dr. and can go to any hospital. Check out the jobs at www.chr.ca or www.carna.com.
