Has anyone here had a personal experience with hospice for a loved one or friend?

If so how did the hospice do for you? I am a hospice nurse and find it to be a great honor and privilege to do what I do. I have recently been on both sides of the hospice experience as I lost my mom to cancer a year and a half ago. I have recently been hearing some negative things in my community about some of the other hospice organizations that frankly have shocked me. I would really like your thoughts.

I am glad to hear that. Mine did too.

My friend passed just after New Years after a long battle with an auto immune disease. The last couple of months, she had hospice come to her house to help and they were great. Everyone that we dealt with was very professional, but they were also very caring.
It must be a very difficult and sad job to do, but their help is immeasurable.
Peace

My mother died of cancer when I was 21. She was in hospice care for her last few months. The hospice was wonderful. Very caring. I appreciate the comfort she had in her last days. I've heard some negativity too, but she had wonderful care provided.

I sure have. ...for my precious father鈾?and my beloved big brother鈾? I was by their side the whole time.....Was given the sacred privilege of being alone with each when they made their journey "home."
