Scary boob leakage question? |
last night i was laying in bed reading my pregnancy journal and it said something about a clear fluid coming out of the nipple in the next few weeks... i kinda was weirded out by it. but as soon as a reached the end of the sentance i noticed my shirt was wet..... i freaked out. it was only a little bit, but still. i have no one i could ask about this... so is this normal to happen at 15 weeks and 5 days? im alittle worried that i might have to start wearing nursing pads and that my nipples are going to leak all day (i have a square of tp over both nipples now just in case!) i have very large breasts as it is ....dont ask the size you wouldn't believe if i told you.... man love it though! lol.... back to the question. what affects is this going to have on me and what advice can you give on whats going on with me... im 20 years old and have never heard of this before! im freaking out! the book i was reading said it wasn't the colosturm.... it said it was the stuff before that. because the colostrum is yellowish and this stuff was clear..... i'm confused..... not sure if the book is even right or not! lol It is normal to have leakage at that stage in your pregnancy. I had some around then too. It is your body getting ready to make milk. The first liquids that show up are colostrum that have the most antibodies your baby needs. I would get some nursing pads - either washable or disposable depending on your preference. You just put them in your bra and they absorb the liquid. I had leakage from about week 14 through 22 then it stopped for a while and started up again in my 8th month. Also don't get alarmed if, before you give birth, and you hear a baby cry - you leak really bad. That happened to me allot Thanks - and what is funny is she is almost 4 now and sometimes I still leak a little - LOL And I stopped breast feeding her at a year! Report It Yep, very normal. It's called colostrum - it's what your baby will feed off of for the first several days of life until your milk comes in. It's full of nutrients. You can go to your local convenience store and get pads for your bra if you are worried about making a mess. Good luck! Its completely normal. i had the same thing when i was pregnant with my son. it's just pressure on your breast that push some colostrum out. i wouldn't worry, your body is just preparing its self for your baby to come. I have never heard of this but best soultion.. Call your doctor... IT"S NORMAL!!!!!!!!! Go buy a box of nursing pads and put them in your bra. They could leak for an hour or until you stop breast feeding. Sorry to say but some women just start leaking early. NOTHING to be alarmed about you just have to take extra precations now to not let everyone know whats going on. I have it at 34 weeks, but unless I squeeze it, it doesn't really leak. Just don't wear too tight of stuff. I heard you should go braless to try to toughen them up for breastfeeding. And once your baby is born, you will know he/she is hungry because your boob(s) will leak!.. Good to know! :o) Its normal its happening to me to, Im 25 weeks right now and its mostly if I put any pressure on them or after me and my boyfriend have sex, ....I asked my doctor about it and she said its normal just get nursing pads if it gets that bad |
