How do you handle people who just cant stand you? |
I wrk with two nurses, LPN's, who are just the nastiest people I have ever met. You would think that peope who are led to be nurses would be kindhearted, but these women are not. And just like they dont like me, I do not like them either, my reason being they are always acting like fellow employees and patients are idiots--behind those people's backs. They are horrible women, simply horrible. Both of them act like agents of satan. I aint lying. but I got to work with them. Yes this is a business question. I am asking about how to maintain a professional relationship with difficult people at my place of employment; people whom I have no personal connection with, but I can not respect on any level. Perhaps this has not been an experience of yours...but you keep living. I'm only 13 but i go to school with a couple of people who i hate as much as they hate me. they make-fun of people(teachers) and blame it all on me. the so called "nurses" that work with you are probably just jealous of the people they make fun of and you. I advise you to just smile and ignore them. if they make a rude and or inappropriate comment about anyone just walk away. but if this comment is about you say " at least i don't get my fun making-fun of the people who i am jealous about." and by the way i can tell that you are a very smart person by not joining them and keeping your personality alive. Then work with them and forget about them. Say what you have to say to them and nothing more. They are going to talk about you no matter what and there is nothing you can do to change it so just be you and let them be them. You can't change people like that so do what you have to do as far as the job goes and nothing more. Be upfront and do not let them act like that. Also, show them how to be the bigger person. Don't let them ridicule people. If anything you will feel good about how you handeled the situation. Smile, and be as nice to them as you can. They probably won't know how to handle it, and you won't ever stoop to their level. Good Luck! Try to be the bigger person & just kill them with kindness, the more they know they get to you, the more they'll try to irritate you. Good Luck! at work i ignore them as much as i possibly can. the only time that i talk to any of the managers up front (i work in a grocery store) is if i take money or if the need food from the deli. then just put on that fake smile and go on ur merry little way. its hard but thats how i survive Become the nicest person they could ever meet. Don't give them any reason to dislike you other than you're just too darn cheerful all the time. When they put down someone, patient or co-worker, interject something good about that person. If you always see the bright side of things, what are they going to complain about and be taken seriously? Limit you contact with them as much as possible. Also try to focus on something else when they are around. Is this a business question? Investing? dear maybe you should start looking for another job or see if you can be transferred to another floor Do something nice for them everyday...go out of your way...they are stuck in a rut and are unhappy and the only thing they know how to do is *itch...your job satisfaction will be greatly affected by your coworkers..so if you can brighten their day it will show and other people will appreciate it too Be nice to them. Laugh at their jokes, if they aren't too rude. Don't lose your cool they may hate you from the start, but anyone can respect self control. Just ignore them. My boss is one of them. and once i appeared on his office's door he tries to looek serious and get stupid and don't like me. But i don't mind and just ignore him. Hate to say I first talked with her my coworker and she still continued with the behavior then My boss and I wrote her up Then I left the company and told them why then they fired her two weeks later. She was Satan agent and pretended to be all pious and Christian and then lied threw her teeth. |
