LVN's and LPN's....what type of facility? |
do you work in? More demand in Nursing homes or in hospitals? I'm a retired LPN and I've worked in both. LPNs also work in drs. offices. Nursing homes usually have a much higher percentage of LPNs than RNs. They are in demand at both types of facilities. I've worked in both, and find them completely different. Nursing homes can provide a wealth of knowledge and practice. Hospitals have that "acute care experience" that a lot of places will look for on your resume. It's easier to get a job in the Skilled Nursing Facilities, especially now, since most hospitals are looking for per-diem RNs. Also, look for a job with benefits. If you can get one off the bat, take it. There is a shortage everywhere. I worked in a nursing home and cna are so short staffed that i could not do my job for having to do theirs as well. Now i work in a diaysis center and love my job |
