I have been a LPN for 7 years now. I was terminated from my last place of employment last year over false?

accusations. The place where I worked cleared me, and adult protective services cleared me. The people who inspect healthcare facilities said I did what I was accussed of. Anyway, they turned me over to the board of Nursing, who took 7 months to investigate and clear me. My question is should I tell prospective employers of this, or not? There is no record now that I was under investigation. BTW I worked in a nsg home, and want a hospital instead. I only worked there for 3 months, in a hospital 4.5 yrs before that.

I wouldn't put my last employer on there being as though it was only 3 months that you were there, and when they ask why you been out of work for so long say personal....

You have two options: Inform your future employer or do not put your last employer on your resume. However you will have to explain your absence during this period. You could always say you returned to school..

You HAVE to put your last employer on any applications. If you KNOWINGLY leave something out, because you feel it could be damaging, that is a terminable offense in most places.

It is much better to put it down, and explain what happened. For one, it will show a lot of character on your part that you are willing to admit a dark period of your life. If your old employer found you didn't commit the act, it shouldn't be a problem. Just state the facts, that you were under suspension for a period of time while an investigation took place and that you were cleared by your employer and the nursing board.

Good luck!

edit: I know you say there is "no record" of you having been under investigation, but I do want to point out one thing. There might not be an "official" record, but I am sure people knew about it, and really healthcare is a fairly small field. Someone you worked with might now work where you apply and say something that would put a doubt on your application and honesty. Much easier to manage this from the start than to have to answer questions later.
