What is the difference between a LVN and an LPN in nursing?

I know one is vocational and one is practical or practicing... however, what is the difference and how do they differ in the actual job performed?

its the same thing, just different names. its just what the state calls them. if you are a LPN in one state, and you move to a state that calls them LVN, that's what they will license you as.

vocational has more interaction with patients ' medical treatment, practical has more with the physical therapy.

They are the same. States have different names. My ex is an L.V.N.
