Can a female dog be in heat while nursing her two week old litter?

She went through the regular discharge following the birth for about 10 days, but now, the Male is eagerly stalking her and her discharge has re-appeared.

I am afraid she is "Fertile-Myrtle" !!

Dogs come into heat every 6months or so. There is a condition called pyometra (infection of the uterus) that can often occur within weeks after heat or puppies, or sometimes it just occurs for unknown reasons. Discharge is very common. It is a very serious condition. I would take her to the vet, emergency vet if necessary, to rule that out. She needs to be examined as soon as possible.

Most dogs go thru heat only every 6 mos.

Some times Bitches come on heat again, almost straight after whelping, the Dog must be kept separate as he may inadvertantly kill the pups in an attempt to re-mate.

I've never hear or seen anything like that
I would have her checked by the vet

Generally no they can't be in heat when nursing but if she is good luck with that
