What's wrong with girls?

In most of the arenas, especially politics, science,business, sports etc, males take the lead over females; ladies excel very much only in certain fields like nursing, teaching etc. What's the reason. Don't quote Marie Curie, Florence Nightingale, Suu Kyi or someone else as example. I'm to the statistical point.

If you read some vedic history then you will find that women in India has alwys emerged as the toppers in all fileds as well they enjoy respect.

I'm not sure where your information is coming from. I'm not going to argue that men seem to excel when it comes to the job market, but I often wonder if that's not just based on their gender.

In my high school, females made up the top 10; I was number one. At the university I attended, again, females made up the top 10.

I think most of it is social vs. scientific or having anything to do with intelligence, training, or qualifications. Politics, especially, seems to be gender-based simply because there are too many in society that still feel that the "woman's place is in the kitchen".

Maybe this issue exists because it is harder for females in those fields and some women aren't up to the challenge. Also, many women feel the need to help other people and that's exactly what they do in nursing and teaching. Women are making a rise in the areas you listed though. I on the other hand love a challenge and pursue whatever it is I want. There are a lot if male nurses now also. At least there are many of them in my state.

our's is a country where male domination over females exist.so obviously it takes some time for girls toprove their power.even they will emerge as true winners in every field.

It was only about 55 years ago that women started venturing out to do things like science, business and sports...

It's the technology that gave women more freedom to move about and start actually doing things.

I excell on construction sites painting. No one writes about me. This is common. So what does this mean?

Well....girls are children. It shouldn't be expected that they can compete with any adults. As I don't expect boys to do well in science and politics. Why don't you wait until they grow up before casting judgements?

Women, on the other hand, are quite capable of holding their ground in any field when they desire. In the city I live in, the head of the University, the regional Hospital, and the majority of the known politicians are all women.

Think most likely, that you have to look at sex differences:

In sports women and men have different body types. They have different abilities and disabilities. Women and more flexible and men are stronger.

In the work world, traditionally women have stayed at home to look after kids. The areas in which they excel are often lesser paid but I'm not sure this means they are worse. Most likely there are mental tasks also that women are better at. For example, langugage. Women may turn out to be better doctors; we don't really have the research on that. They may be better teachers, not sure.

In business, women, do in fact do pretty well, when given a chance. Far from clear that men are better business people.

The problem with the statistical point is from where could you get unbiased data on this sort of thing.

I think a lot of women may be too intimidated to participate too fiercly in male dominated arenas. Becuase of the gender divide we're more likely to be argued down to the ground before we've even taken off yet..

Women are lot smarter than men! Also men are stronger and can do more active things like sports!

There is nothing wrong with girls. We are just doing fine...it is high time that World esp boys understand & acknowledge this.

If you still want to debate :) , politics & business are like two faces of a coin & girls are not good at moving up in the ladder by stepping on the heads of others.
Nursing, teaching.....don't look down upon these professions. One has to interact with humans....totally & mostly unpredictable.

I don't think there is anything wrong with girls. I think humans should be able to participate in any kind of activity, and not have to be the best because of their gender. that is just old for me, politicians should just do their jobs regardless of there gender, athletes should do the same. Enough with "men" this or women "that". As a society as humans we are all good at something it does not matter if my little kids's teacher is a man or a woman it matters that he/she knows what he/she is doing.

girls are doing better let's be proud

There is absolutely nothing wrong with girls.
They are different -- the difference can be traced back to XX chromosomes. They are biologically different. I think maybe if society went back to nudity - we would notice that - hey! - we aren't the same.

I believe men used to have more time to devote to their career. Women, are getting there. We were focused on raising children. I don't think most males excel very much in being the caretaking parent. Never underestimate a woman, tho. I think raising children and having a career in no matter what field is amazing.

Statistics, don't show the background of the participants. Different factors always shape the numbers.

I think a better question would be: "whats wrong with boys". As for male leadership, focus for a minute on the incredible amount of destruction they have been responsible for. Women leadership would focus on sharing resources globally in order to prevent famine, to provide good health care, educational opportunity, and a much less destructive, ego driven philosophy

It's based on how people are raised. Most people of parental age nowadays, or even going back a couple decades were raised with the idea of men being the primary bread winner, the one better at any physical task, the smarter ones...etc. So when they raise their kids, they sort of end up steering the sons toward the more technical, more intellectual, and larger scale things, and the daughters towards more nurturing, food related, and educationally related fields.
