Army aiborne sniper vs. navy weldier?

2 questions.
1. which would you rather do?
2. i want to be a nurse after i get out of the army or navy (im a male if that bothers any of you) and i was wondering if you can do something like that and be an underwater/above water wielder at the same time in the navy.

Well I am in the Army (13 years in...Airborne Infantry). Choose Navy Welder. There is not such job as "airborne sniper" The way it works is you would have to pick Infantry with an airborne option. What that means is your job is Infantry, but upon completion of basic training & AIT (Advanced Individual Training), you would then report to Airborne School. If you graduate jump school (too easy), then you would go to a regular Infantry unit, with a chance of going to one of the few Airborne units. Sniper is an additional school you would get later, based on the needs of the Army. If you are a stud and lucky enough to be accepted into the scout platoon of your battalion(roughly 500 men), then you might be able to get one of the 3 or 4 sniper slots. Other then that you would have to have a RIP (Ranger Indoctrinization Program) volunteer and hope you could get one of the Ranger Battalion's few slots. But getting into one for the four Ranger battalions is also very hard. The last option you would have to get a sniper school slot would be to volunteer for Special Forces once your in after a couple of years. If your selected & pass everything, then maybe you could get a slot there.

ultimately, the thing to keep in mind is there are only a few thousand at most in the Army who are sniper qualified. Also, you have to be an Infantryman first. I know several Navy guys and I think welder is an actual job you can get off the street from them and is not a specialized thing like sniper.

Besides, since you already seem to have alot of interest in the welding, go for that.

If you have to ask, then you aren't a sniper!

Underwater welding is a very time-consuming specialty. But the career after the military as a welder can be very lucrative.

sniper takes a specific person. little crazy, little lonely, really patient, and can switch from "reality" to a "snipers world" in a sec. Not many recruits make it. If I was you, go into the navy as a medical corpman. Special forces adventure, with a medical background for later
