Gyno Qs and procedure - Ladies only!?

Hi, I recently went to a gynocologist in my small town in India(for the first time ever). Though he was male, he was my family physician for yrs and we felt it is best to go to him.
During the examination, I felt a little uncomfortable and so want to ask all you ladies if this is normal behaviour and feelings. There was a female nurse present during the examination.
1. He told me to undress completely. I felt this wierd as he was only going to check 'downstairs'??
2. He told the nurse to remove my va*ginal hair?
2. He did not use a glove or anything....? Though he washed his hands before and after the exam.
3. He took a few photographs of my organ as 'before' photographs and said these were needed for the examination.
4. He inserted 2 fingers in my front and back too? Why? Is he supposed to do this? What is he checking?
When I asked my mother in law about this, she said that this was how he treated all patients and since a nurse was there, it is ok?
As I just being paranoid?

Wanted to add that he made me sign an 'agreement' which said I agree for the gyno procedure etc etc...Dont know what it says in details (it was 4-5 pages)..
He said the pictures are needed as a comparative analysis before and after treatment.
I have some itching inside my va*ginal area and went to treatment for that.

in america that wouldnt fly, no photos unless there is a serious deformity, usually they do a breast exam at the same time they do the lower exam so undressing isnt abnormal, rubber gloves are always needed, that was bad form and they never shave you unless there is some surgery to be done , yes they check inside for unusual bumps and they check the rectum as well . but still as i said that would not pass muster in the united states.

You are absolutely NOT being paranoid. I have never heard of the picture thing, or shaving! This must have been very humiliating for you. Please report this! It is not normal behavior! Be strong and stand up for yourself! Good luck sweetie.

Lets see I went in for a pap smear, and I only undressed from the waist down. He never ordered a nurse to remove my pubic for I have none. He used a glove. He never photographed my vagina. Im not sure how many fingers he inserted but he did insert them in both the vagina and anus for some sort of odditie.

Sounds kinda odd, maybe you shoud ask why he took pix?

It was not ok for him to take pictures and it was not ok for him to not use gloves. You should have been alone when you got undressed and yes he needed all your clothes off as he should have checked your abdomen and breasts. There was no need to be shaved for a pelvic exam. He also should not have inserted 2 fingers into you rectum to do that check. What he did was not proper especially with the photos. If you have a medical board you can report him to I most certainly would as photos is a big no no and I don't care where you are located. Do not go back to this doctor.

No doctor asks to undress completely..they only ask to remove panty!! No doctor takes photographs...only ultrasound and other tests are done!! You better go to a female gynecologist next time as this person seems to be a pervert.

As you tell me he's been a family doc for years, it seems he's a professional molester.
Aren't there any female gynocologist?

That is so wrong. In America first of all you get into a gown when no one is in the room. No one shaves you unless you do before hand. They always wear gloves unless they want to be sued. No one checks your back door unless you state that there is a problem. Last but not least, NO ONE TAKES PICTURES. You were violated and you signed for it. I know they do things differently in India,however it should never be as you described. I'm never going there.

Please make it clear that which type of check up r u going for gyn ?
I think he took a photographs is not proper thing.

Iam a guy. There are lot of clips posted on net like photos of vagina and breasts etc.. The thing you have narrated will be done only in pron movies. better this time consult a lady Gyna...st.

I have never had a picture taken and never heard of it.My doctor always wears gloves,and never shaves anything on me.The reason for the internal with his fingers is to feel your uterus and make sure it's where it's supposed to be.That sounds like the only normal part of your visit.I would find another doctor fast.

Oh hun please report him and find a diff dr. Ive had a few and i have undresed fully with a gown so they can do a breast check but PICTURES NOOOOOO WAY thats illegal especially if you didnt sign anything also shave you Never heard of that. Id really suggest you call the police, and find a lawyer. Im so sorry you went through this. Try for a female next time but I had a ale for a while but he was very professional.
