Is there an operation that Ortho vets can do on a dog with h.d. to stop the pain? |
I have an 9yr old rottie with arthritis and H.D who still walks mim.4 klms every day and swims at least twice weekly for 1/2 hr without very little effort and keeps up to my younger male rottie on the walks I have been told by a vet nurse that I can have her nerve in the joint cut to stop any pain that she shows when they play or she jumps up on my bed and in the back of my ute. She has a funny little skip when she walks but nothing more. Has anyone had this op done as I would love to know more. Didog. In Fresno CA, they are having GREAT success with acupuncture therapy for dogs with HD, and arthritis.. You may have a veterinary acupuncturist in your area.. To my displeasure, there probably is something like that. Not sure why people spend so much money on their pets... Maybe I should pose that as a question. Hey, thanks for the question idea! There are several different surgical procedures that can be done on a dog with Hip dysplasia; depending on the severity. At 9 years old, I'd really consider carefully any surgery you may be considering putting her through in light of the fact that she actually seems to be getting around quite nicely! |

lmao hahaha. that made my day ...... and the top o' the mornin' to you, Liam, my little leprechaun. That joke improves with age. In fact, it gets better EVERY time I hear it! ...star for you, brilliant joke 10/10. how embarrassing for the student nurse...............omg. ...You are going to have to take over the role of mom if she is not doing it. Dogs have an instinct of "only the strong survive". But just because she is smaller DOES NOT mean that she is ... in america that wouldnt fly, no photos unless there is a serious deformity, usually they do a breast exam at the same time they do the lower exam so undressing isnt abnormal, rubber gloves are alwa... my dad breeds lab and one of the females had her first litter about 4 years ago but once they were born she did not want any thing to do with them. she would not nurse them she would gral at them. ... it is i did but they should ask you if you want a nurse present as my dr did for me ...Here's what a medical journal published in the UK regarding such examinations and whether or not the use of female nurses/chaperones was protocol. I think you were treated quite disrespectful... |
