Stupid doctor??

I went to the urgent care yesterday b/c I wasn't feeling well, the doctor asked me if i had any other symptoms I said no nothing out of the norm--no spotting or bleeding just normal lochia....she said that lochia was the beginning of a threatened miscarraige and I started crying so bad b/c i've never MC'd so I go grab the first nurse i see and ask for fetal heart tones to be checked---they found the heart beat right away so the male doc comes in and gives me my pelvic and says every thing looks great..cervix is closed and firm...and the lady doctor starts saying i could have a yeast infection and that they are an STD....I looked at her and then the nurse looked at her..and i said umm ok---and so the nurse tells me "THAT is NOT true!!" and she runs to get the other doc...so the male doc comes back in and apologizes and says every thing looks good and I can go home---should I complain about the lady doctor?? would you??

she seemed more like she didn't know what she wasn't talking about---or that she wasn't sure but even if you aren't sure...shouldn't you get the correct info before opening your mouth??

I've had an experience like that before. The ignorant doctor judges you based off your looks/insurance/whatever instead of your actual medical history. I think you should file a complaint. Instead of just saying a yeast infection she concluded that you were trashy (based on whatever she decided) and had an STD. Horrible.

You should complain. I did when my former doctor did something like that to me.

How did hte nurse know it was not true? First find that out. Yes, I would complain to her boss.

Yes, something isn't right there...the avg person knows both of those statements are true..was she on something?? I would find out who to contact about it.

Yes you should. This is absolutely ridiculous. How can she give you such information knowing that you're pregnant...Sometimes I really wonder what school these doctors went to...they dont know **** and they certainly dont know what info to give and how to give it to the patient.

My doctor did the exact same thing..she told me first that my baby might have down syndrome but at the same time she told me that the lab got the results wrong so they are rechecking..I was sooo upset..I spent the rest of the week crying and i upset everyone else too...i mean if you dont have the right information DONT give the patient a bunch of B.S just for the sake of it.

I would complain. Then the Hospital will have to do something because they would be aware of an issue. She is a liability and shouldn't be allowed to malpractice.

Yes, definately. For one thing, if the doctor was saying things to you that bothered, or worried you, and they turned out to be false, how many other people has she done this to. I have worked with many doctors, and some of them need to be told, so please do. She needs to know that the way she treated you/ talked to you was inappropriate, and verging on malpractice.

My 'best guess' is that because the nurse went and got the male doctor that HE is the head doctor and he will probably do the reporting. Sounds like she is an intern, not a full doctor yet. Either way you decide to go - go with your gut!! If you believe the male doctor will 'handle' the situation (which will NEVER be in front of a patient), then relax about it and just take care of yourself. Good luck sweetie!!

i've had three miscarriages and they were all terrible on me emotionally.... i loved my children the moment i knew they existed....

LOL well Im a nurse...... I would report her to patient services....... If she is dumb she should not be seeing patients...... I have reported alot of nurses and doctors over the years......

When my gram was in the nursing home for rehab... when id walk in they were on their toes..... i heard one say.... Oh god its the grand daughter Make sure the grandmother is neat and clean.... LOL Gram got very good care after I threw a major fit about poor care and threatened to get the state funding pulled from the facility.

If no one talks nothing changes.... I got bells palsy Thur the flu, My right side of my face froze.... at the hospital the Dr told me it was permanent......I called my regular Dr. crying and she said NO NO its not......... I was so stressed out my face on the right side was froze for 7 months straight..... Do you know how many that would have caused to kill themselves..... I was only 26.

definitely! she shouldn't be saying untrue things like that especially in a doctors office!

Complain about her yes!!!!!! She not only upset you for no reason, she also gave you false information. Who know what other false information this woman is spreading...

Yeah complain. I think it is rediculous who they let OUT of med school these days. Doctors these days dont know a whole lot and its getting worse

Yes... I would complain just to find out where she got her information.I had a doctor like that and I did turn him in and he was no longer at that office after that. I didn't feel bad because he misinformed me.Just as you were misinformed, and scared I'm sure. If you don't turn her in then someone else is going to get her and feel as you did. Good luck
