Jealous friend: Using a catheter on a patient undergoing lower leg surgery?

My male friend with whom I share a mutual but secretive bond had an operation to put a rod into his calf bone (fibula/ tibia). I could not be there because of social reasons, but am very jealous/ anxious that he might have been seen naked by others. My friend is extremely handsome and anyone would like to see him naked. It can't ask him these questions directly. It's been 1 month, but I still think about it a lot.

1. I want to know how common is it to use a catheter on male patients to urinate them, for this surgery in India?

2. Who puts in this catheter? Male or female?

3. Is it put/ taken out while the patient is conscious? Can the patient feel someone touching his private parts?

4. What is the exact procedure of putting this in and out? Does the patient urinate on his own with the catheter or does he need the nurse's help?

5. What is the probability that he wouldn't have been given the cath. at all?

I would like answers from surgeons/ nurses/ as well as patients., esp. Indians
