My cat has abandonment issues?

My cat is about 7 months old now, he's a male, and when he has about 5,6 weeks old his mother was hit by a car & killed and that was how we got him. Now he's always trying to nurse off of our older male cat. He does it constantly through out the day.
How do I get him to stop....or will I have to wait it out? I can accept if my cat his homosexual (heheh...) but it gets annoying because it leads to them getting into fights. I can't get rid of either of them.

Kittens need to nurse for at least 6 weeks to 8 weeks old.
I don't think the issue is feeling abandonment from its Mother. I have a cat, (16 years old). When my son brought home this little guy, I already had two cats both males. The kitten tried nursing off both cats. One shooed him away, the other male took him as his own and let him nurse. It was the funniest thing to see. (I have pictures) The adult male cat loved that kitten like he was his own. Cleaning it and protecting the little one. Was very possessive too. Didn't mind the kitten nursing at all. One day the kitten just stopped.
So don't do anything, let your kitties handle it on their own unless the fighting continues put them in separate rooms for awhile maybe the kitten will find other interests! LOL

awwww... poor kitty. Don't worry too much about the nursing behavior. This usually gets less and less until it stops altogether as the cat matures. That your older male is "batting" the kitten away when he tries to nurse is ver normal. Even momma cats do that when their kittens get big already and they know that they can already fend for themselves. The nursing behavior is an attempt by the young cat to recapture those kitten feelings of comfort and security when he was nursing at his momma's bely. ALL young cats do this - some just knead while others also suck. Not to worry, K?

he just needs time to heal, give him some extra love to help him through this
