Pitbull puppies? |
My pitbull has just had 1 puppy in 2hours she had it at 1:08am and it is currently 3:20am she is just nursing the male she has just had outside there is no signs of labor but at like 2:00 something she was showing signs but what can i do she is 1 year and 5 months old but what can i do and i cant go to the vet there closed i just called In my considered opinion having Bred,Trained and looked after dogs for over 60 years there is far too much pre-occupation with humans thinking they are animal midwives and can "help" the whelping *****.They all seem to have an insane desire to clean the placenta from the puppy, wipe it dry. weigh it (why?) and even put it on the teat to suckle. Dogs have been doing these things for years in the wild unaided. Best advice Leave her alone to get on with it and visit her quietly So she is not disturbed or distracted as infrequently as possible. if she is having real difficulties call the emergency vet. There is no point in hanging around her. You have already proved that if there is anything wrong you are unable to do anything about it. So stop fussing and upsetting the ***** with your presence. If she's not in any serious discomfort and is taking care of the puppy just watch her. She may only have one puppy since she's so young. I never took my female dog to the vet when she had puppies until after she was done. You can wait until after the holiday to get her checked out as long as she's doing ok. Most vets have an emergency on call service so if you have problems call another vet. I SAID EMERGENCY VET they are open 24/7! Try going outside again and see if you can walk her in aprox. 10 foot circles. This may bring her back to work on her labor. If she wants to stop to squat, let her do so. Did you clear the room of people? Did she have an established nest box before she had pup number 1? If not, did you take her away from the spot that she had pup #1? She may want to continue her labor where she started it. If it is a safe spot indoors, then you may have to allow her to go back to that spot to finish, unless it was someones bed. there will be a vet available for emerancys, keep a eye on her for signs of distress or discomfort, also check ther is no funny colour discharge coming from her if it is get her to a vet asap as there may be a pup stuck ther pups and mum could die why why why did you let your PUPPY have puppies,, why on earth wasn't your PUPPY spayed.. and WHY WHY WHY was your PUPPY allowed to have her puppy OUTSIDE?? educate yourself and have this dog spayed ASAP. you are part of the pet overpopulation problem in this country and you should be very ashamed.... call the emergency vet. |
