Me (male) as princess for halloween. Suggestions?

So here's the deal. There was no bet, nothing like that. A friend went as a girl in 04 and i promised I'd do it... i pulled out and now I'm making it up to him... But in creative fashion.

Most guys go as hookers (as he did), playboy bunnies or dirty nurses. I want to break that mold. I plan on going as a totally dolled up princess for Halloween. Basing everything around a poofy prom dress (haven't picked one yet).

Any suggestions on what to do?, what to wear?, where to shop?, Makeup? all that good stuff. I want to be as convincing as possible. Our night club has double return airfare anywhere in north america for the best costume... I want it. Therefore, nothing is off limits. :)

Wear a tiara, blonde wig, pink poofy dress, pink nail polish, bright red lipstick, purple eyeshadow, strappy high heels, clip on earings, matching necklace, a ton of bling, and mascara, eyeliner, etc.

Have a trusted girl friend of yours do your make up and make sure you make it clear to her what you want. For a one night outing you don't want to spend that much on something you won't use again...of course if you then decide you do like it (completely your choice and deal dude) splurge on those products.
The best results on a realistic costume comes from borrowing actual items used by girls and their friends.
Go to a second hand store for the dress, shoes, etc. Most of what you need can be found there (and in your size) at bargain prices.

I shudder at the thought of another man voluntarily emasculating himself in public. But you did ask for advice.

Accessorizing is what propels a costume from good to contest-winning. Invest heavily in the "extras".

A princess needs a tiara. You can find them in costume shops, or you can create your own out of cardboard, silver or gold spray paint, and children's costume jewels.

You'll need a scepter. All royalty carries a scepter. Use a broom handle, spray painted gold or silver. Buy one of those things you see at the end of curtain rods in some people's homes. Wal-Mart has them. Paint it silver or gold, and fasten it to one end of the broom handle. Decorate it with more of the costume jewels.

If you want to interject humor using irony, make sure you let your beard grow out full. The contrast between a hairy face and a prom dress is hysterical.

High-heeled shoes are a must. Get them at any thrift store. Spray paint them the same color as the rest of your props.

Wear lots of fake jewelry on your fingers and wrists and even ankles.

And if you can, get someone to be your "servant", carrying the end of your dress so it doesn't drag on the ground, like it does with the "commoners".

Getting into character will be helpful, too. But I don't know how a princess is supposed to act, so I'll leave the research to you.

Hey there! I've read where several people have told you to find the "long blond wig". I think it would be better for you to use your own hair (unless its completely buzzed off...), but if you have any friends that are hairstylists (or if your brave enough for a salon) get your own real hair done in a style. There are lots of "prom styles" for short hair and you DID say you want it as convincing as possible....

Go as an Old Lady. get a moomoo and red lipstick and a gray wig. that'll be hilarious.

An evening gown, crown, long lashes, barely there, understated makeup, a long cape (fake fur trimmed) and scepter. Use ballet slippers so your feet don't hurt with high heels. Use a good wig so it looks natural. Look at Princess Diaries(1&2), GiGi, My Fair Lady, Roman Holiday, for ideas of Costume and poise. It is the manorisms that the make the princess.
