Question about examining male genitalia. Is this unprofessional?

Sorry if this sound like an inappropriate question, but I just have to ask..

As a nurse I often have to get close to my patient and some time even examining men and teenage boys genitalia.

When I examining their genitalia they ALWAYS get an erection. I know it's natural body reaction, but, I kinda like it. I feel flattering when they get an erection, sometime I even compliment them.

Do you consider this unprofessional

They like it when I compliment them.

this is a gross question but i guss its not wrong
its how you feel
whats wrong with thanksing someone for basically saying your pretty
lol

Yes it's unprofessional to compliment them on their genitalia during an exam.

Hell No!!! Wanna see mine???

Absolutely, and it could even be considered sexual harassment. I know if I was being examined and a male doctor complemented me about my body that way I would report him immediately.

do not say that! unpro

No not at all...

I think it is unprofessional to make this sort of comment. You are a nuse in a professional setting. If a different setting - perhaps but not in this manner.

Yes, you are stepping over the boundaries of professional behavior.. No one can prevent you from getting pleasure from this, but it isn't cool to announce it..

Let's see...you are a nurse. A trusted person who is allowed into our personal space to help us heal.
You want to know if it is UNPROFESSIONAL to compliment a man's natural reaction to your working on their ILLNESS.
What do you think???

not at all, i think if anything it would prevent embarasment and boost self comfident. we all know how important it is for men to feel good about themselves down there, and i think if it was me i would probably be so flattered as to have to take a trip to the bathroom afterward.guys would love the compliments.

I think you are being very unprofessional indeed. Young boys especially get really embarrassed about this. You should just ignore it.

I also do not think it is right that a young nurse should be dealing with young boys. If I was their parent, I would ask for a male doctor.

yes this is unprofessional if you said this to a teenage boy who then told his parents you would most definately be taken to court for sexual harassment even if the boy liked that you complimented him. and it is not very likely that you wouldn't get in trouble no matter how many times you said i was just trying to make him comfortable

i think you should ask if they want a compliment
