Can a Doctor or Nurse who work in a Hospital please answer?

If a 19 year old male goes to the ER with a cough, tightness in the Chest, and shallow breathing, is diagnosed with Bronchitis given prescriptions and sent home (without a chest x-ray). Then less than 48 hours later is back at the ER with abdominal pain (Vomiting, cramps, and Diareaha). A CT scan is done of that area. but the person who looked at the CT Scan sends a note to the ER Doctor along with his findings that he saw somethings else in the Lung area. However the ER doctor does not investigate more. Less than 24 Hours later the patient passes away from an Enlarged Heart. Was the ER Doctor Negligent.

Absolutly he was, a 19y.o. presenting with tightness, cough and shallow breathing should be given a CXR especially if they do not have a fever. They should have seen an enlarged cardiac sillouette on CXR CT and done a ECG which would have shown large septal waves i assume this was a genetic condition and the person probably would have died anyways. Many docs don't do a full H&P and this is what can happen. Sorry for your loss.

sadly i would have to say that the doctor did fail to treat this problem correctly
