Has anyone ever witnessed a mother cat nurse her 3 year old kittens??

Hi. First of all I wanna make note everyone is fixed now, but before that time one of our cats who happened to be the "Alpha Cat" of the family was weaning her 10 week old kittens. One day I saw 2 of her "Babies" whom happen to be about 3 years old nursing from her!! And she let them. Not only was it odd but each one of the two males "babies" were each about 3 times bigger than her. Has anyone ever seen anything like that. Obviously she was a good momma. Her name was "Peta Pizza"

R.I.P Lobster, 5wk old kitten, Her, her sister Ginger and their loving never forgotten mother got put down by RSPCA.
They wern't even given a chance.

PLEASE dont let this happen to more kittens. You could prevent this by adopting a kitten who will be put down soon.

All you have to do is ask the ppl working there if there were any kittens handed in that are goin to be euthinazed soon.

no, but it doesnt surprise me, i once had a fox terrier, quite old, and she used to let our kitten try to suckle off her, which of course was useless.

yes, and now I have a year and a half old male, (fixed) that still nurses on my nine yr old pit bull female. She will whine for him, or she will flip over for him if he head nuzzles her. Some pets are just embedded with motherly instincts that they never lose.
