Male nurse at work catches me unaware with his flirting?

i work as a cleaner in the ed department a few weeks ago this male nurse jumped out in front of me and said hi and then proceeded with small talk while waiting for a patient to finish in the loo. he caught me totally unawares, as i id seen him around for months where nothing had happened. the same thing happened the following day. a couple of weeks have passed and he has said hi a couple of times and i say hi back with a smile. i feel really funny around him now. i think the big problem with me is the fact i am a cleaner and not another nurse or doctor. now if i see him i run the other direction as i dont know what to say or do around him. a prime example is a couple of days ago i went to walk through the door to the staff room and there was someone standing behind me waiting to go through the door as well. little did i know it was him, when i did finally realise instead of turning around and saying hi i took off to the toilet. what do i do to get over this shyness.

yes i told a male friend of mine that i like a coworker but he has a much better position than i do and he said that it's fine because most guys don't expect their gf to earn the same amount of money they do.

Don't go having an inferiority complex. About LOVE: Does it matter if you are a cleaner and him a male nurse? Does it?

There are newspaper or magazine articles out there where the disparity between the couple's social or academic status is way worse. I am sure you have read about them before. And they are the tip of the iceberg - how many more such instances have not been reported in the media?

To overcome this shyness, you have to first believe in yourself. Believe that you are a great, funny, sweet, pleasant person to hang around with and that you deserve someone good.

My brother attended this confidence/motivation class and he has a mirror in his room, with words like "I am an authenic, brave man" written in black marker over the mirror. Maybe you can do something like that too? Leave post-it notes or mirror scrawls or whatever else you need to remember that you are a great person worthy of love?

And if you still feel inferior, why don't you take up some night classes or something, to improve yourself? It's always better to do something than to just sigh and berate yourself for your sad state.

You did great in smiling and saying "hi" back to him. I am not sure if he is flirting with you or not, but it does seem like he wants to be your friend. Just treat him as an ordinary friend and work from there. Don't give yourself additional pressure. And besides, it's always better to first get to know the person as a friend before jumping blindly into a relationship :)
