Male Nurse?!?

Have you ever had a male nurse? What did you think of him? What do you think of male nurses in labor and delivery?

i see no problem with it.. i see a male midwife all the time.. and he is great.. they go to school for the same thing us girls do to be a nurses and to help.. so i don't see anything wrong with it

i go to a female ob/gyn but the day i went in labor with my daughter the male doc from the clinic was on call. at first i thought it would bother me but once it came time i didnt care who was there as long as they caught my baby =) there was also a male student who was following the doc. its not that big of a deal. they see so many women they dont even pay attention like you might think they would

Hlow is it different from a male patient having a female nurse? Do you ever hear male patients asking 'Why is there a female nurse in my room?'

i honestly dont mind if the nurse is male...............they are there to help us

A Nurse is a Nurse, to me its all the same.

Throughout the pregnancy i had female doctor she was great but the day of labor they called in a male doctor.
I was happy I had him.. he was awesome..

I'll note that my wife's first OB/GYN was a woman, and she hated her. She switched to another one, a man, and was much happier.

In general I think its the individual that matters the most. That said, I have heard some women complain that a female doctor is likely to assume that 'she knows what you're feeling'. If something wasn't that bad for her, she figures it won't be for you. A male doctor has no personal basis for comparison, so may just listen to what you say and take it at face value.
