What do medical/surgical nurses do?

What do medical/surgical nurses do?

i'm a med/surg nurse at a small hospital. we take care of many different things. one day your patients may be 5 day old baby that won't eat, teenager with a chest tube, kid with strepthroat, an unresponsive nursing home patient, and a very drunk man. the next day all your patients could be recovering from surgeries. we keep them all to one hall and away from the "sick" patients. it's a very fun and challenging job.

This could take a while, so I got some links for you.

In short, they do it all.

Treat patients with a lot of different health conditions. Med/Surg is a unit where you will see different illness. It's a generic catch all.

Medical work in a clinical setting, and surgical work in the operating room.
