How do you become a neonatal nurse? |
I am doing a research on if I can become a Neonatal Nurse I am an neonatal nurse. If you're not already a nurse..go to nursing school. Then when you graduate and pass boards..apply at a hospital that has a NICU..although some hospitals don't accept new grads directly into the NICU..look for one that does. If you are a nurse..just apply for a transfer to that unit. I've been a NICU nurse for almost 4 years, I love every minute of it, it's all I've ever done. Good luck! Are you already a nurse, if not, you need to go to nursing school and get your degree. Several students from my graduating class got jobs working as a neonatal nurse right out of school. Call your local university. You will take the basic nursing classes and then can usually major in a more specific area (when you hit your Master's degree, I think) 1. First do the prerequisite classes to get into a nursing program. |
