Descirption of neonatal nursing?

neonatal is for infants at risk. Otherwise they would be in the regular nursery. Neonatal covers any baby who is high risk such as preemies, ones with birth defects and what have you. It is usually called the neonatal icu. Intensive care because of complications.

neonatal nursing is caring for new born babies. nurses will work in maternity with new mothers and fathers showing them how to care for their new born babies such as feeding(getting them to suck on the breasts), and washing and cleaning them. paranatal care is also an option where nurses care for at risk babies such as premies or ones who were born from a high risk pregnancy.
