What do they call a baby nurse? |
What do they call a baby nurse? Doogie Howser, R.N. Pediatric nurse? Maybe? pediatrician I think Pediatric nurse is the term most commonly used. They are called neonatal nurses. Pediatric Nurse or a Neonatal Nurse Labor and delivery nurse That term is neonatal nurse. A neonatal nurse works with babies that have special needs in a level 1,2 or 3 nursery depending on the severity of needs, like preemies or with a health condition. These babies require more care than most. A labor and delivery nurse works in the delivery room and then in the nursery after the baby is born, but more and more babies room with the mother .A pediatric nurse works either in a clinic or in a pediatric unit with children from birth to age 18. It is a good idea to specialize or have additional training to work in neonatal. There are special courses required in alot of states. Same thing applies to pediatrics as it is a specialty. I cannot stress this enough, the only area there isn't a nursing shortage is L&D. A pediatric nurse or a nurse practioner. |
