I just recieved a call from my nurse saying that my papsmere test results came back abnormal?

What could possibly be wrong with me... cancer doesnt run in my family... im only 18... she says it isnt an STD

Try not to worry about it. They'll run some more tests and let you know what is going on. Sometimes they just get a funny (funny strange, not funny ha ha) result the first time.

That happens they will have you come in for a second test and a biopsy if that one comes back the same way.

they sometimes make mistakes. call in the am and find out. once i got this call / it really scared me. turns it was mistake . they retested and all was okay.

pap smears can come back abnormal for several reasons and often nothing is wrong. relax and she will probably have you come back in for another.

just, isn't this Sunday. It could have been a problem with the person that read it. Go back to your Dr, and talk to them.

Sometimes the test are just wrong but you need to get a second test done and cancer is cancer it doesn't have to run in a family to be found and your age doesn't matter.

No dont get in a hurry to think something might be wrong. I have had them to come back that way too. Just go back for another one.

I had that happen to me and it was just some inflammation. I had to use a vaginal cream for 10 days and then go back for another pap smear.

Cancer doesn't discriminate by age or family. You will have to be retested a few times so they figure out what is wrong with you. Do some research on the internet. I gave you a wikipedia link with which to start.

I had an abnormal test once
it turned out I had a minor infection
and that was all second test was fine
don't stress over it it well drive ya crazy.
Good luck....

My girlfriend is here and said the same thing happened to her... she had "abnormal spots on her cervex". They said she had to check it out at the gynocologists because it could be cancerous. It turned out to be nothing

So don't worry too much, but check it out anyways.

I had the same call for another test, the second normal they just want to be extra cautious.
Try to relax.

Some forms or cervical cancer are actually sexually transmitted, and some are not. I have had pre-cervical cancer 2 times the first time I had to have a leep done on my cervix and the 2nd time they done a freeze but I have family history of cervical cancer. I wish you the best and here is a link that I hope helps.http://www.cancer.org/docroot/CRI/conten...
