Bloodwork - Nurse asked me to call back. Does this mean anything BAD?

I'm waiting on my results for thyroid, hormones and some other things because I've lost a lot of weight and my period isn't coming on a regular basis. I'm nursing a toddler though.
My last thyroid test 5 months ago was fine with 1.0.

Dont worry. It may be just something simple that is off and can be corrected with a medication. If you are already on medication, they may want you to change your doseage. Hang in there... and call back tomorrow!

Nurse angie

not necessarily-- could just be to follow up w/ the appointment. I wouldn't worry myself. Good luck!

it probably is. she just wants to let you know what has happened.

Hi Sweetie,
U will never know till U call back & it may not be bad at all! Plse try & be Optomistic about this ok?
Plse call in the morn. Good Luck! lol

Unfortunately when blood work is done and sent to the lab, it takes a while to get the results back. The nurse probably didn't have all the results in. Instead of giving you partial results, it is best to wait till everything gets back from the lab then tell the patient all of the results. I would worry if the physician calls and tell you to come back in.

Try not to worry about it. They'll run some more tests and let you know what is going on. Sometimes they just get a funny (funny strange, not funny ha ha) result the first time.

  • Do doctors call nurses?

It probably depends on if they know the nurses on a first name basis. I've always heard general practicioners calling the nurses by their names.
