What are the sharp, shooting pains up my behind?

About 2 times a week, I experience brief and sudden sharp pain that seems to shoot up my behind. No, I haven't been putting anything up there...It comes from out of the blue and lasts for about 3-10 seconds. I don't know what it is and I am concerned that it could be something serious (prostate cancer?). I am a 26 year old male in pretty good health. Any solid advice from a doctor, nurse, or other medical practitioner would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!

Please do not listen to the person who says you may have cancer. That's ridiculous and he should be banned for saying things like that.

I would be almost certain you do not have prostate cancer, so stop worrying.

My guess, is that you may have piles. These are enlarged veins in the rectum. Have a word with your GP. Do not be embarrassed. He has seen it all before.

you should see a proctologist for an exam immediately. This sounds like cancer.

just a muscle spasm, dont worry about it.

Could be somthing as minor as sciatica or as extreme as a hernia go and have it checked out by a doctor better safe than sorry.

It's not a serious condition, I believe. I had the same thing happen to me also and it still happens but not as often as you have it occur. If it's "inside" that area it might be tapeworms, because I did some research on them and they can cause sharp pains like the ones you've been experiencing.

If not, contact your doctor and ask him what in the world is going on. There is a logical explanation for everything that goes on in your body. But who knows? It could just be muscle spasms. If so, maybe you aren't getting enough protein?

Like I said I don't think it's serious, but I'm not sure.

That might be a colon symptom. The colon is the most important part of the intestine and very important for the human body. What i can tell you for sure is, stop eating meat(except white) increase the amount of vegetables and fruits, avoid frozen
and junk food and try to live healthier. Now this might not be a big
problem but in ten more years the situation might be worse if you
don't change your eating habits.Dairy products containing lactose
like milk, cheese, etc are not colon friendly and make the condition worse. However yougurt helps for as long as it is natural 100%.Good luck
