What is a current ethical or moral healthcare issue?

How might it change or affect the role of healthcare practitioners in nursing?

Assisted Suicide

Currently Assisted Suicide is illegal and practitioners are not allowed to aide in such practices. Many people (including Practitioners) think this is wrong and should be the right of terminal patients who are in pain.

Is it more wrong to allow someone to die of their choosing or is it more wrong to allow that same person to suffer extreme pain with no outcome but a very painful and prolonged death?

a lot of americans don't have health insurance!

Is it ethical to give away other people's social security to people who are supposedly in more need? On the other hand, is it ethical to withhold resources from a person who needs medical attention?

Your own health care benifits might go down, or go completly!

48 million American citizens do not have health insurance!

Abortion. Uninsured, hungry children. Homeless people who are mentally ill. And so much more.

The lack of healthcare for the uninsured. If the U.S. were to have a public healthcare system, like in Canada, it would dramatically increase the demand for nurses because so many more people would have acess to healthcare.
