Child abuse? |
who does the early years practitioner (nursery nurse) so now i no who Every school or nursery in the UK has, by law, a designated child protection officer (CPO). A nursery nurse should inform the designated child protection officer of his or her concerns. The nursery nurse should under no circumstances question the child, or his or her parents or carers by asking leading questions - if there is abuse this can seriously impede any ensuing court case. The child protection officer will take the appropriate action to start an investigation and this could involve outside agencies such as social services, the police, medical staff and the Joint Consultancy Team (JTC), which is a made up of health and social care professionals who have experience in child protection issues. Contact the police and tell them what you know katt said it all. better being safe than sorry. police and or welfare call the police, child protective services, and the local prosecutors office. Either the police or Child protective services. The number for the police might be easier to locate.. By law, doctors, nurses, teachers, etc have to report any case of suspected child abuse. If you are a nurse your department head should be notified as they will have all the info as to whom to contact. they report it to the local law offices and or the children social services and they tell them who the child is and what they have found and why they think the child is being abused...from there the social services by law have to do a follow up on the claim but if it is in severe nature of physical harm it is acted on immediately to protect the child the local police along with the social worker will arrive and remove the child and in some cases take the abuser into custody i also want to add it is against the law if you know of a case where a child is being abused and you do not report it The nursery nurse will be working in an establishment and that establishment should have one member of staff who has, as part of their job description, the responsibility of the wellbeing of a child in such cases. The nursery nurse should always seek advice from a superior within her establishment if she has any concern. In a well-run establishment, this senior worker will co-ordinate an investigation. Call The Police . First when you suspect a child is being abused a written explination will be needed of why you think this ect you would let your collegues higher up than you know your suspicion. Then you would get in contact withsocial services who will then come out to discuss the issue and deal with the issue further . |
