I'm going for an appointment at planned parenthood on tuesday...?

and im wondering if they have any male nurse practitioners. I am 17 and I do not want a male doctor because this is my first exam EVER and I wouldnt be comfortable. What should I do if a male doc walks into the room? ahh

Why not call the Planned Parenthood office PRIOR to your appointment and ask if there is a female nurse practitioner and can you request either a female or male. That way, no surprises!

When you go to check in just request a female doctor. You should even call in advance and they can put in their notes that you would like to see a female. Believe me they will understand. It's rally not that big of a deal, after a while you'll be more comfortable. But I understand your concerns for the first time.
