Please help! He's in serious pain?

Weve both been having a cold, i guess you could say. But he's been coughing REALLY bad, sore throat, and the past two days hes been having horribly bad stomach cramps, in his lower left area of his stomach. SO bad that they are bringing him to tears. We took him to this nurse practitioner yesterday, and spent our last 50.00 just to get him seen, and she seemed like a quack to me, because she never said anything was wrong, just a "cold" and gave him some medicine to help fight the cough and cold, and he told her about the cramps, and she didnt pay much attention to that. HE is hurting so bad! DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THIS IS, OR ANY HOME REMEDIES TO HELP THESE CRAMPS??? THANKS SOOO MUCH!

no stupid silly answers please, this is very serious

Well, I would have to say if he isn't having diarrhea then the stomach cramps could just be a symptom of the stomach flu. He could just be coughing to hard also. If you have a heating pad put that on his stomach it will help relax the muscles. If not then have him get in a tub of hot/warm water. Have him take some tylenol or advil. Something for the pain. If he doesn't get better you should take him to the hospital.

Good Luck

gas,needs more exercises

he sounds constipated..drink prune juice..
He could also have pulled a muscle from all that coughing..

It sounds like the virus that's going around,.

It can be pneumonia, See a doctor please. Mefenamid acid or Advil will help a bit but will not cure the condition.

It looks like this could be a spastic stomach in combination with the flu. I am not a doctor but I do know the symptoms you describe here. May I suggest you bring the patient to the shower and let the shower run very warm for a while (without the patient underneath it of course!). The steam might help to reduce the cramps and the sore throat. After that try to drink some warm tea with a little bit of honey. Keep the patient warm in bed (is the patient feeling cold or warm?).
Hope this helps a bit. Good luck

Basically, if he is not hypertensive can take much more salt in his food to avoid cramps. take much fluids and should be hot fluids. refrain from cold beverages. If he is smoking stop immediately. then continue with the medicine you got. It will be ok very soon. Dont take a bath or body wash until he will cure from this and for time being spong him with a hot clotch. Wait for 24hours for improvement if not consultant a doctor.

take him back 2 the hospital, and make a big fuss lol.. and then complain about the quack not listening x x x

Hospitals cannot refuse you service because you are unable to pay. take him to the ER if it's really that bad. Pain in the lower left (his left) quadrant could be caused by a multitude of things. As long as it's not in the right, that's a sign of appendicitis.

If it doesn't get any better in the next 2 days i'd call NHS direct for help 0845 4647. Honey, Lemon and some paracetamol should do the trick for colds/ flu. I used beechams all in one the other day and that was really good. I had the same symptoms including cramping. I'm not sure why, but it went after 2 days. If the cramps are really painful use a hot water bottle.

Good luck

Hey you have to take him to a pediatition asap

There is a virus right now children catch and looks like the common cold

has all the symptoms your child has it can take your child to the point of calling 911 if not taken care of.

And only a childrens hospital type of doctor will have the info on it a GP may but it looks like the common cold so it must be the common cold.

It is a bad one all the symptoms you said
I just ask my wife what it was we forget the name of it.

We have a CF grand child who was warned by Cincinnati Childrens hospital CF doctor of it

It could be the flu...or a stomach virus...or
a burst appendix.
Either way, he must be seen by a doctor.

As for a home remedy, use hot water bottles
to help with the abdominal cramps.

Hope this helps.

If you're referring to a child then he needs to see the doctor immediately! Go to the emergency room if necessary.

Hyoscine Hydrobromide will help with the cramps if it's an adult - that and regular painkillers.

Maybe he's seriously dehydrated. Get to a doctor, but has he had any water to drink?

call the nurse practition back, ask for hycotuss or tussionex, this will help kill the pain and slow the cough down a bit.. it is controlled substance, but tell her he sint sleeping, coughing all the time and suffering, tell her you can pick up the paper prescription since they might not want to call in a controlled substance.. take it as directed.
