Is there any danger to my health if I wait a couple weeks before seeing a doctor? |
My period is two weeks late and I have been having dull to sharp cramps for a week now. Pregnancy test is negative. I obviously have no idea what's really going on with your health but, I always say go with your gut. If your gut is telling you that you should go to the doctor and check out what may be going on, then don't take no for an answer and tell the doctor's office you want to see them sooner than 2 weeks. It seems to me that in 2 weeks your symptoms will either completely disappear and you'll never know what caused them, or you'll be worse by then and will have wished you'd gone to the doctor sooner. I'm never one for seeing how long I can last before going to the doctor -- it just doesn't seem worth it. Hope you feel better soon! Stress can make your periods late, stop, light etc. Don't worry about it for a few days and see what happens. It can also depend on your eating habits and weight as well. I would definetly get a second opinion if it has been two weeks since your last period something is not right at all. Even after I had a positive test, my doctor said I did not need to been seen by him until my third month. Relax. you experience cramps and sharp pains in your ovaries due to pregnancy, in early pregnancy. You know your body and you know when something isn't quite right. If you are worried, then go in and be checked. Even if it is nothing, you will feel much better knowing. Good luck. Well, than make an appointment to see the doctor. However, if the Preg is neg and your period is late...whats the worst thing to happen? Nothing! I cant think of a life threatening illness that manifests as a late period. relax, you will be fine! |
