My fiance has been having heart problems.?

He says his heart sometimes beats really fast for no reason and it feels painful sometimes.

Anyone who is a nurse practitioner on here that can explain what might be the problem?

He's 5'7. 160 pounds. Eats fairly healthy, but will eat fast food from time to time. Doesnt work out, works at a desk job all day long, and gets stressed out easily.

It could be anxiety or it could be a condition called SVT or
supraventricular tachycardia. This is a type of heart rhythm disorder that is a rapid heartbeat originating in the atria.
Supraventricular tachycardia often occurs in episodes with stretches of normal rhythm in between. He should be evaluated by a cardiologist for a diagnosis.

The stress at his job could be causing him to have anxiety attacks. He really needs to exercise to help him to get rid of excess stress hormone cortisol. If he doesn't like to exercise, then he needs to try meditation.

Anxiety most likely. Depends on his age, height/weight and genetic predisposition to heart disease.
