I Can Not Handle This!!? |
My husband and I have been TTC for 2 years now, no luck. No positive tests, no hope whatsoever, besides the wonderful people from Yahoo Answers. I didn't want to have to get doctor's involved, but I decided it was necessary after 23, almost 24 months. A nurse practioner really has a tight protocol and I think your $$ and time is better spent with an actual gynecologist. For virtually every appointment I had with an NP, any time I had a problem, I was referred to the gyn. It became a waste of my time and money. All of my problems were beyond her scope. I would see an actual OB/GYN. S/he will be able to diagnose you better. Don't fret about not being pregnant yet. There are many things they can do for you to help. It is very rare that a person in completely sterile. i know it is very nerve recking but just relax. and besides they are not going to tell you that day that you are not going to be able to have children, they are probably going to do tests and all that good stuff, plus do not forget about fertility pills!!!I hope everything goes fine, good luck and keep us posted i know it can be difficult to hear that you can't carry a child of you own. maybe you can look in to getting a serrogate or adoption. Relax. You probably won't find out anything one way or the other at this appointment. They'll probably ask you a bunch of questions about your cycle and if you've been charting and history and stuff and then they may do some standard labs and then ask you to try charting your cycles if you aren't currently doing it, or refer you on to a specialist. Don't stress.....stress is the killer of conception. Be calm, be cool, you're going to be a mom when the time is right! Good luck! If you trust the gynocologist more than I would go with that but don't cancel or change it just because you are scared. I know a few people that have tried everything and then when they stop trying is when it happens. I would go see the gynocologist. I think they can help you out and answer your questions better. And dont worry, There are very few people who are told without a doubt that they can never concieve. Whatever you may have, which could even be nothing, there will most likely be a treatment for it and you will be pregnant in no time. Good Luck :) i been trying to get pregnant also for almost a year and i havent had much luck, i think you should hope for the best make sure your husband supports you in what ever you do, and go see a woman doctor, i think she can give you the most helpful advice since that kind of doctor does specialize in that department, i hope you the best. if you like her i would wait for her, i dislike my fertility specialist and dread going in for my appointments, however i wouldn't really want to drive an hour to all the appointments either because you really do end up going frequently you should checked for endrometriosis. they do ultrasound and if they see something they go for loporascopy, it is very easy. one day in the hospital they can fix you if it is simple.if you have to much to handl by loporascopy they will do loporatomy that takes long time .six weeks. but at the end you might have baby.i did have after the surgery with one overy. set up the appointment, but keep the one you already have too. It's always nice to have 2 opinions. First I would call and ask your OB to refer you to a fertility specialist. They will be able to help you with whatever problem you may be having... There are a lot of reasons why you are having a hard time conceiving, one could be that you may have a tilted uterus... don't worry, modern science is really advanced and there are a lot of things you can try before anyone will tell you that "you won't ever be able to have children." You will be so glad that you did this. Actually, I would skip the obgyn and nurse practitioner and make an appointment with a Reproductive Endocrinologist who specializes in infertility. After two years of ttc with no luck a specialist in that area is what you need. I would see an actual doctor if it were me, a doctor may be able to hwlp know what the problem is better than the nurse. I had a very hard time getting pregnant to. The doctor tried a few things and nothing worked, until they put me on clomid. I took clomid for 3 months, on the 3rd month I got pregnant. Dont be nervous, theres things the doctors can do to help! I was SOOO happy when I finally got pregnant. You just might need some clomid to. My husband and I tried for just over two years. I was seeing an OB/GYN for the past 16 months and did multiple tests and such. I requested to try Clomid, which is a fertility drug, and we ended up conceiving on the first cycle! Although you may feel as if it will never happen, don't lose hope! Go see your OB/GYN as he/she will be able to get you on the right track faster! Good luck! There are many reasons why you are not pregnant. After 24 months it is a good idea to get checked but that still may not tell you anything definitively. don't be so worried.have you ever had sex right after your period ended? if not try it.some times our bodies decide when they are ready to conceive, and a doctors apt. is a good idea,go to your obgyn.but even if they tell you that you can't,have faith, many times doctors said that and were so so so rong.trust me I've been there. good luck & keep the faith I understand it being stressful. I would wait to see your regular gyn because she knows your history. If need be she will refer you to a fertility specialist if only for reproductive testing to see if its a female or male factor. I wish you all the luck in the world and hope you receive your little bundle of joy. i woulod see my actual gynocologist and i wouldn't worry about the what ifs until its confirmed that you cant have kids and if you cant then i would concider adoption. please let me know what happens at the doctor or what they tell you to do. cuz we've been trying for almost 2 years aswell so im really curious as to whats gonna happen I am not sure what 2 tell you but what ever you do NEVER give up...I got pregnant the 1st time when I was 20 years old and lost it(long story) it was 14 years later when I got pregnant with my little girl...When I found out I was pregnant I was in total shock but happy.. ........If I was you I would stick 2 my own obgyn not someone who I didn't really know and not sure if i TRUST I agree with a few other posters that said you should skip th enurse practitioner and OB/GYN and go straight a reproductive endocrinologist. Hi! I have the same problem as you do. I've been TTC since December of 2005, and it is almost 2 years ago....I'm afraid to have an transvaginal ultrasound because I might hear something bad.I'm irregular and right now I missed 2 periods in a row. I might be pregnant I might be not. I'm still gonna have my pregnancy test done this weekend. I've always been hoping I am pregnant everytime I miss my period but I always get frustrated. I also have to find out if maybe I have PCOS because of the irregularity of my period. I wanted to try taking clomid, metformin and other stuff before I go to the ultrasound but people say it's risky. You see, I wanted to try all I've got and what's natural before asking help. I'll give it one more month and then find help for this. My husband and I are hoping that we can have our child next year. Good luck to everyone! |
