How can I not be nervous?

I am supposed to go to the GYN tomorrow and I am so nervous. I am not new to the procedures, I've gone before...but my last visit was not the best experience. In short that appointment ended with a huge lecture from the nurse practitioner and me leaving the office in tears, not because of anger...they were from the pain I was in.

I have taken the time to research a new doctor and since I have never seen her before, I think that is what I am partially worried about. Many people have told me that she is so sweet and very personable and easy to talk to. I hope so. I need to get over my fear and I know the only way to do that is face it straight on. Is there any relaxation tips that anyone can share with me so that I will not be a ball of nerves tomorrow? Thanks in advance for all your help.

most people are nervous and embarresed about the whole thing.. Just remember that the doctor does this for a living... and they see it everyday all day. Let them know that you are nervous and they will try and help you.. keep changing doctors till you find one you like.. or ask friends to recomend one they like...Just remember why you are going.. and treat yourself to something after for being brave..

Well, I have needle phobia, and there are absolutely NO relaxation exercises that work for me.
I would just go in, and explain to your new Gyno how extremely nervous you are.
