What did your ovarian cyst feel like? Did it go away without treatment?

My period is two weeks late and I have been having dull cramps for a week now. Pregnancy test is negative and the nurse practitioner said it could be an ovarian cyst.

Ovarian cysts are a natural part of the menstrual cycle and most times dissipate on their own. I know when I did have them, the pain would hit hard and sharp, it hurt enough that I saw black in front of my eyes. I would just try to relax myself until the pain went away.

Some cysts may not dissipate and may need to be surgically removed. It is best to see your OB/GYN so that he/she can determine whether yours is still active.

Good luck.

Mine went away by itself. By the way, I had more pregnancy symptoms with my cyst than when I was actually pregnant. I gained 6 pounds and nearly 6" in my waist and I had a dark line down my stomach.
