33 weeks with ?'s?

Hi there,
Well, last week was my 32 week mark. My husband and I went to see our nurse practitioner for our check up. When she measured my stomach she said i was measuring almost 2 weeks ahead of where I should be. I know my dates and such for my last period and so there isn't a way that can be right - she thought I might have more amniotic fluid and such. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this and if this means i'm going to have a big baby. Also, she's monitoring my blood pressure because that has been a little high - sorry for the long question just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. Thanks.

Babies are funny creatures, they almost never do what they are "supposed" to. You could have a big baby, more fluid, anything really. Also, with blood pressure problems you tend to retain fluids. I know this sounds crazy, but the more you drink the less you will retain, so drink lots of fluid and rest on your left side as it reduces pressure. If you have any dark spots in front of your eyes be sure to contact your Dr. right away as they may need to put you on medication. Good luck!

It is common for a pregnancy to measure ahead or behind by two weeks. Anything more or less is reason to worry. Remember that during the last trimester is when the baby grows the most.

Congrats on the pregnancy. Now try to relax and enjoy it.
