Getting Cigarette smoke smell out of my hair ???????? Does anyone have a good way to get it out ??????????

I don't smoke but a couple of my friends and my sister do. Plus when we go out to clubs, dining etc... people smoke. How can I get the smell out of my hair with out having to wash it.
My hair is really long (Down to my waist) So washing it every day can be a pain. But the smell bothers me, my hubby & Kids. Plus I work as a Nurse practitioner in a hospital. And I know the smell bothers others around me. Does any one know of a good way to get the smell out that works???
Thanks Much!

Kali :-)

herbal essances has this stuff called refreshing spray..it costs about $4 and it works amazing!! i am a smoker (i know its bad for me) and i use it religiously. it smells fruity like the herball essances shampoos but it works and its light enough that u can just spritz it on and comb ur hair and ur hair smells like its just been washed and theres no more cigarette smoke and it doesnt make hair greasy. i use it because frebreeze dried out my hair but that might have just been my experiance...good luck

spray it with perfume?
i dunno.
go out in the wind n let it blow out?

It's great for days when you haven't really got time to wash your hair 2.

Yeah wash it

Hi!

I have this problem sometimes. I seriously can't stand the smell of cigarette smoke, so I will use an odor neutralizer such as Febreze or Renuzit and spray it lightly in my hair. It gets rid of the smell and kind of gives it a nice scent. Good luck!

NO RINSE SHAMPOO....but you have to get your hair wet. You rub it in following the directions, and comb or brush your hair out.

wash it, tell ur sisters not to smoke around u, and when u go to reteraunts and clubs & stuff, u shouldnt get ut hair smellin like that, it doesnt normally make ur hair smell

Spray it with perfume

have you ever thot of cutting your hair to shoulder length? add a mousse thru it then blow dry on warm

Try to bun-up ur hair & wear a cap. U look more stylish & spray some nice scent on ur hair. Get it t any cosmetic booth, eg: chanel, christian dior or body shop.

Ok here is a trick that I found works really well. I work as a bar maid and get stuck with the smell of beer and cigarette smoke in my hair. I use lemon juice ( the same stuff you put on pancakes) It totally cleanses the hair. You leave it in for a few mins then wash it out using your normal shampoo.

well a few things you can try: you can wash it with condishoner every night, spray it with perfume,or spray your brish with perfume and water. i dont know if this stuff will work but it is worth a shot ( sorry about spelling im 10)

Wash it,condition it,style it den spray perfume on it.Den when u go out it wil smell and look good!!!!!!!

Cigarette smoke is tough to get out because its so strong and very noticeable to a non smoker... Washing it is really the only way to totally get rid of the smell but one thing I do is to spray some of my favourite scent on a hairbrush and then brush my hair with that. It helps. even if you can't wash your hair right after being in smoke, can you condition it alone? Just getting it wet and adding conditioner should help ease the smell.

I wouldn't recommend spraying actual perfume in your hair because it will dry it out, maybe an alcohol-free body spray-I do that sometimes when I have to run around the day after being at a bar and don't have time to shower first, still can smell some smoke though. I used to use this hair freshener that L'oreal made that was like Fabreeze for the hair but for some stupid reason they discontinued it. After reading some of these answers though I would try the Herbal Essences spray, I have been looking for something like that for a while, can't even find it in the expensive salon product section. I hate cigarettes!!
