What do you think my chances are that I am preg?

I am 19. I was raped on sat the 16th. My mom is a Nurse Practitioner and she said it was the best time of the month for me to get preg. I am really scared that I am. My period is supposed to start next week. So what do you think my chances are and i am open to any thoughts.

If you were raped you should have been told to take Plan B.

All you can do know is wait and see. I certainly hope you reported it to the police.

And you need to seek counseling.

Well, if your not on birthcontrol and he obviously didn't use protection. It's really hard to say cause people try to get pregnant all the time and never do.....so I guess it depends on how easy your body is to excepting it. Just a question, even through all this trauma.....how come you didnt get the morning after pill? Anyways, now that all things that could have been done are passed.....I would get get checked for everything to be safe!

First of all, get some counseling to help with the aftermath of the rape. Trust me, you WILL need it.

Secondly, don't start worrying until you miss your period. Just because it was a good time doesn't mean anything. The guy could be shooting blanks. He could have had a vasectomy.

If your period ends up being late (by more than one day), take an at-home EPT. It is the best brand. If it turns out positive, think long and hard about whether to keep the baby or not. If you don't want it (and I'd understand why), please don't abort it. There are many couples out there who can't have a baby who'd love the chance to give it a home.

It is too late now, but your mother should have taken you to get the morning after pill (which is really just a high dose of birth control pills that interferes with implantation) and you should have gone to the hospital for a rape kit, and pressed charges. In a textbook case you would get your period two weeks after you ovulated. Worry can make you miss your period, as well as poor nutrition and hormonal imbalances. Your MOTHER should have helped you more, and I hope that you are going to get some counseling to help you though this time. I am not one to promote abortions or anything, but I think you need to seek some professional help (outside of your mother if all the help she has given you was telling you it was the 'perfect' time to get pregnant) to help you though this time. If you are pregnant you are going to have the toughest decisions of your life ahead of you. Good luck.
