Have you ever gone through a time when you were certain that God had forsaken you?

I did last fall & winter when I went through severe clinical depression. I couldn't function in the simplest of ways. However, I became CLOSER to God during that time (if that makes any sense at all) After much prayer, I feel that God lead me to a very unknown nurse practitioner who is a genius. With God's discernment, she found the right combo of meds and I feel alive again. Meds helped but I still give God all the Glory. I have been better now for 4 months.

hello my sister,
I would have to say yes. In many instances in my life, but the most harmful was when I lost my son at 27 days to SIDS.
I had lost so much previous to this that I wondered why God would forsake me, and I felt like life was not worth living. I gave up for a time. That was 14 years ago, this December he would have been 14.
When I think of all of the times in my life where I was doubtful, this is the most prevalent. I had to really learn to surrender this feeling to God and allow Him to work His presence in my life, and guide me toward the path He had set me upon.
I of course do not feel this way today, as Koury, my son is in a much better place. I of course miss him, but God knows best why things happen the way they do. There are no mistakes in this life, and even bad experiences can enrich your life, you just have to have the foresight to overcome.
I must say I am so proud that you have overcome your struggle, and I am so blessed to know you.
Blessings and love,
Sassy

Never. He does not forsake us. We forsake Him.

Yeah, when he had me raped and stalked.

You only feel forsaken if you trust your feelings over your faith.

Well if was all god's work then maybe the shrink just gave you tic tacs. You really need to believe in yourself instead of some fanciful system of rituals.

How can something that doesn't exist forsake you?

God will never forsake you, for there is no god.

.

You're forgetting one important fact:
There is no god.

Once I found God and not religion, no matter how bad things have been, I know he is always there and though most of the time he just lets me get on with it and sort out my own problems, I know he is always there watching my every move. Like a father standing back watching his child struggle to solve a problem, there but letting the child work it out and proud when they eventually get it right.

I have been through alot, yet never have I felt that God has forsaken me.

All praises to God for you getting the help you needed and giving God all the praise!!! You sound like a person who knows how to live!!!! :-)

I certainly have. I think it's natural to feel that way when so many things are going wrong in your life. And, it's understandable to become depressed as a result.

God's word says He will never leave us, nor forsake us. No matter how low I felt, I always kept (and still keep) those words close to my heart.

I'm so glad you're doing better. It feels wonderful, doesn't it? It's like coming out of a fog and finding the sunshine again.

Yes, a long time ago when my father was killed.
