PICU/NICU Nurses?

Could you please answer as many of the following questions as you can-
What is the salary range for a PICU or NICU nurse?
How much shooling is required?
Is this a good career to go into?
Can you be both, a PICU and an NICU nurse?
How much longer does it take to become a Nurse Practitioner?
Would you have rather of been a PICU/NICU doctor, or do you like being a nurse?
Thanks in advance!

Salary varies from state to state: Michigan, start at $27.00- 42.00/ hour and shift differentials will add anywhere from .50- 3.00 more per hour.

Schooling: RN, can get a 2 yr associates or 4yr bachelors degree, you can be both PICU and NICU nurses at the same time.
Nurse Practitioner is a master's degree, so add 3 yrs to the bachelors degree for a total of 7 yrs.
There is no way I would want to be a dr, too much malpractice insurance, plus your on call alot, the Dr's are so stressed out/ many are divorced( at least once),being a nurse I can do my job and when I leave, I leave it at the hospital. I wouldn't have it any other way. Plus if you ever get tired of that area of nursing, you can change fields of specialty and try something else.
