Which are the most common drug classifications that nurse practitioners are restricted from ordering?

NPs cannot usually prescribe narcotics and controlled substances, but this depends on the state they work in.

They should not prescribe a drug that they are not familiar with or is for a complex disease like cancer or aids (unless they work in that area)
