Are nurse practitioners taught how to dictate?

Are nurse practitioners taught how to dictate?

My nurses chapstick is gross.

I doubt it, they are not secretaries.

As Buckwheat used to say, "Darla, how'd my dictate last night?"

no i dont think so

I don't think so. I am a PA, which is similar to a nurse practitioner, and we are not taught how.

Dictation is only recording into a phone something you want typed out. So, nurse practitioners, nurses, anyone with access to the dictation system can dictate. However, I have only seen doctors do it in the hospital setting. Most of us just write down in the progress notes what we want to communicate.

I don't think so.
I have had Nurse Practitioners who seemed to be more intelligent then some of the doctors I've seen. I would prefer seeing a Nurse Practitioner any day rather then seeing a PA which is nothing but a doctor's assistant.
