So an NP (nurse practitioner) does almost the same tasks as a physician in the same field? |
if so, why don't they get paid atleast a little bit like a physician? Nurse Practitioners can get paid at 85% of the physician rate by most insurance carriers. I know of a couple of CFNPs who went to school with me who set up practices of their own and now have physicians working for their practices, because as they expanded, the physicians coming out of residency needed the position. I guess because they don't have the credentials. I have been to the ER once because of kidney stones and the NP was very knowledgeable and doesn't get paid as nearly as much. |
