Can you be both and EMT and a Nurse Practitioner? |
I would like to be both at some point in my life (not at the same time through). I just want to know if I could be an EMT for some time then a nurse. Yes, sure. You could even work as an EMT part time at the same time. of course you can. you can even become a paramedic (which is higher than an EMT) and a lot of doctors, nurses, etc. do that early on in their career. I know several folks who started out as a volunteer EMT, worked as a paid EMT, became paramedics then either became,RN's, Nurse practicioners or Asst. Physicians Of course you can--you just have to do it. Go for it! of course you can be both. It would help you to become an EMT first and practice this profession before you go to nursing school. |
