Why should pro ball players be paid exorbitant salaries?

To me, something is terribly wrong with paying someone $1,000,000 to play a single game of football.
To make a Million Dollars a person who actually contributes something useful to society such as policemen, firefighters, laborers, nurses, construction workers, power plant operators, secretaries, etc., would have to make $50,000 each and every year for 20 years.

yeah, the harder the work the less the pay is.

They shouldn't. But we buy the advertised products, and they believe that's what draws us. So, they make money to play. We are paying them. Keep that in mind.

Because millions of people are willing to pay $50-$??? to go watch them play.

I'm not saying it's right - but it's the law of supply and demand.

Fewer people in the world have the talent to play professional sports, than to be a nurse or policemen.

because on a very, very, very few people can do what they do. The salaries are excessive, put if they pack the stadiums, tv coverage, ads, etc, then it is worth it. I think its ridiculous when I hear a player complain he does not get paid enough when his salary is like 10 million a year.
