Any here who's a OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST, or no people who are?

Im considering the career and I would like to know your experience as an OT.Is it in demand like Nursing? How was the OT program? Whats the salary like?? Any info will be appreciated!

I know someone who is an OT and they can earn a lot of money (at least in Tennessee).

My mum used to be an OT, she recently went to a reunion and was the only person there who had changed careers (she left to help my dad start his business, not because she didnt enjoy it). I think she enjoyed it beacause she likes arts and crafts, working with people and hates maths!

I am also considering to be a Therapist/Counselor. Some day maybe even a Child Psychiatrist. I see a Therapist who I think is very good. I have been seeing atherapist for over six years now. What I do know about therapy is:
1. Do not get too involved with your client (personal). You have to be able to walk away fromthe patient and help the next the others equally, then be able to go home and live your life not thinking about them..
2. Listen! Show that you do here them and you are there to help.Show you do care (but still in your keep remember #1)
3. When they tell you a problem that is happenong in their home or their family, give them the information you would want hear.
4. Know that it is your JOB!!!
